Tijdens de Olympische Winterspelen in Vancouver wordt het IcyBath al gebruikt door de Nederlandse schaatsploeg. Dit product ontworpen door designgoed, in opdracht van IcySolutions, is ontwikkeld om sporters na hun inspanning te ondersteunen. Een sporter neemt een ijsbad met een temperatuur tussen de 7º – 15º C, bedoeld om afvalsoffen, zoals bepaalde zuren, sneller uit de spieren te krijgen en de sporter een sneller herstel te bieden. Initially, working in the so-called fuzzy front-end, only little is known about the yet to be designed product. How to get to a product that is wanted amongst users and which fits in its context?
A product wanted by users, is fulfilling a need. Needs can be expressed quite differently, sometimes latent, sometimes obviously present, sometimes in a functionality and other times as an experience. In all cases it is crucial to know who are the stakeholders and particularly what their interest is. Therefore it is very useful to know the person behind the stakeholder; what does he / she like and what does this person focus on in products? Alweer 2 jaar geleden is designgoed gestart als het product ontwerpbureau voor de sport & spel markt.
In de 2 jaar dat designgoed bestaat hebben we al veel meegemaakt. Als jong en enthousiast product ontwerpbureau zijn we gestart met een focus op de sport & spel markt. Dit is nog altijd een belangrijk onderdeel van wat we doen, maar er is meer.
